Review the subject list
- Step 1. Open Teaching → Subjects.
- Step 2. Review existing names and codes before adding another subject.
- Step 3. Where offered, match a subject to the official catalogue entry so curriculum-based tools can identify it.
- Step 4. Open Classes and choose the subjects offered by each class; the school-wide list and a class’s offered subjects are separate.

Choose the assessment mode
Review the mode for the class and term before teachers begin. A subject using observations should not be forced into a numerical mark sheet. Changes to assessment policies may be locked once marks or reports are in use.
| Mode | What to prepare |
|---|---|
| Marks | Assessment columns, maximum marks and the class’s report arrangement. |
| Observations | The subject’s skills or criteria and rating scale. |
| No assessment | The subject can be offered without requiring marks or ratings on its report. |
Check the grading scales
- Step 1. Open School Settings → Grading.
- Step 2. Review the default scale and any scales assigned to specific classes.
- Step 3. Check each grade’s percentage interval, label and remark.
- Step 4. Save the complete intended range set and inspect a sample calculated grade.
