School setup
Academic years and terms
Choose the current term, enter non-overlapping dates and understand how to begin later in the year.
Before you begin
- Permission to manage terms.
- The school’s calendar and current academic year.
Set up the current term
- Step 1. Open Terms and check the academic year shown. The school may use Term or Semester as its label.
- Step 2. Choose the relevant term and enter start and end dates. The end must be later than the start.
- Step 3. Check the neighboring terms. Their dates must not overlap.
- Step 4. Activate the term and confirm the current term shown on Home.
Begin in Term 2 or Term 3
If the school is adopting Fees after earlier terms have already passed, use the start-later option offered under Terms when eligible. Read the confirmation, enter the school name as requested and confirm that unused earlier terms will have no bills. Bring genuine previous-system debt in as opening arrears instead of creating artificial collections for past terms.
Move to another term
Close the current term before activating another. Term closing carries forward balances and creates the next period’s records; it is not the same as changing the dates or selecting an old term for viewing. Choose historical terms to inspect records without treating them as the current collection period.
